Tina E. Hammill, 87, of West Pittston was peacefully welcomed into eternal life surrounded by her loving family in the early morning of Friday, Sept. 29, 2023.
She was the wife of the late Eugene D. Hammill.
Born Jan. 7, 1936 in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Santa Bartolotto Russo.
She retired from Moses Taylor Hospital. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and was very dedicated to her faith.
Tina was a very devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who lived for her family and is deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith LaPorte-Durling and husband, Eugene, West Pittston; a sister, Vita Russo, brother, Vito Russo, both of Pittston; three grandchildren, Jeremy and wife Carissa LaPorte, Scranton; Matthew and wife Dr. Lyndsie LaPorte, Exeter; Zoe LaPorte, West Pittston and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son-in-law Mark LaPorte; sisters Sarah Russo and Catherine Lutecki; brothers Joseph Russo and Benjamin Russo.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Paul F. Leonard Funeral Home, 575 N. Main St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston.
All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, Hughestown.
