Pedro Cordova lived a remarkable life. He had some amazing stories to tell. Pedro was born in Cuba, where he faced many hardships and challenges. He was one of the 125,000 Cuban refugees who came to America on the Mariel boatlift in 1980, seeking freedom and opportunity. He settled in Corona, Queens, where he became a mechanic and a pillar of his community. He worked hard to provide for his family and to achieve his dreams.

Pedro was a father of four children and a proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, who inherited his spirit and his values. He was a humorous man who always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He was a man of wisdom who taught us many lessons, such as “don’t put off for tomorrow what can be done today.”

Pedro died at 65, leaving behind a legacy of courage, resilience, and generosity. He will be missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in our hearts and minds. He was not only our father, but our hero, our friend, and our inspiration.

May he rest in peace and may God bless him and his family. Amen.

Arrangements are by the Paul F. Leonard Funeral Home, Pittston.
