Obituaries » Mary Elizabeth Mazar October 12, 2022 Service Date: December 3, 2022 Mary Elizabeth Mazar Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Mazar, 97, a lifelong resident of West Wyoming, PA, passed away in Chattanooga, TN on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Born in Duryea, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Blanche Tighe. Mary was a graduate of Pittston High School. She married Stephen R. Mazar who preceded her in death. They raised two sons, Stephen (girlfriend Anna Eisenhard) of Allentown, PA and James (wife Valarie) of Chatanooga, TN. Mary worked as a crew dispatcher for the Lehigh Valley Railroad before retirement. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by brothers William Tighe, Vincent Tighe, Jackie Tighe, and sister Janet Williams. Surviving siblings are sister Marion (Honey) Posluszny, Pittston, PA and brother James Tighe (wife Betty), Buffalo, NY. She had numerous nieces and nephews, with whom she was close, but specifically Patricia Faleski, who cared for her throughout her life prior to her move to Tenessee in 2021. She ultimately welcomed three grandchildren, Stephen Mazar (deceased), Derek and wife Allyson Mazar, Allentown, PA, and Joey and wife Amber Infantino, Honesdale, PA. Mary was blessed with three great grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday, December 3 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 North Main St., Pittston. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the mass. Arrangements are by the Paul F. Leonard Funeral Home, Pittston.Mary Elizabeth Mazar
